Flexible part-time employment | Regional & rural Australia | Training, mentoring & support provided

Love private practice but not the pressure of running a small buisness?
Running a health-based private practice isn’t easy. Sole trading and small-business ownership aren’t for everyone. But for many dietitians, it’s the only way to utilise their training and build a flexible career.
We’d like to offer you an alternative!
You bring the clinical skills, drive and knowledge.
We bring the business, systems, brand, training, and team behind you.
For 15 years, The Healthy Eating Clinic has been building a successful private dietetic practice.
We’ve learned how to attract and retain clients, build referral networks, market dietitians to consumers and health professionals, develop effective consultation skills, manage sustainable workloads, and support practitioners to grow.
Now, we’re taking what we’ve built in Canberra and expanding into communities across Australia.
You might be a great fit if you:
This isn’t a franchise. You don’t need to buy a business.
You become an employee of The Healthy Eating Clinic, with the infrastructure of an established private practice behind you so you can build a thriving clinic and experience a rewarding career.
Your Clinic. Your Community. Our Support.
As a Satellite Dietitian, your primary focus is simple:
Build positive, ongoing therapeutic relationships with your clients and help them make achievable, sustainable changes to their diet.
We don’t expect you to arrive knowing everything about private practice.
We’ll train you in the consultation approach we’ve developed over 15 years and provide ongoing mentoring to help you become an exceptional private practice practitioner.

You’ll learn how to:
Basically?
You’ll get really, really good at dietitian-ing!

You won’t be building your clinic alone
One of the hardest parts of private practice is everything that happens outside the consultation room. We’ve already built that for you.
As part of The Healthy Eating Clinic you’ll receive:
Business infrastructure
Dedicated team support
The benefits of employment
You get to focus your energy where it has the greatest impact: your clients, your professional development, and your local community.
How we measure performance
Private practice needs to be clinically valuable and financially sustainable. Our business is driven by KPIs, and for each satellite, we’ll review performance indicators such as revenue, rebooking rates, cancellations, and client feedback.
We use these measures to understand what’s working, where you need support, and how we can continue building a sustainable role for you. You’ll receive training, mentoring, and feedback to help you develop the skills that drive these results.
Build something meaningful with us.
We want our Satellite Dietitians to become known within their communities.
That means some of your working hours will be spent marketing your local presence.
We’ll give you guidance, resources and support, but you’ll bring something we can’t:
Your understanding of your local community.

Activities include:
What could your working week look like?
We’re particularly interested in creating flexible, part-time roles that allow enough concentrated time to build a meaningful client base without private practice taking over your life.
Here’s one example of how a 20-hour, three-day week could work.
DAY 1 — CONSULTING
7:45am — Arrive and prepare
8:00am–1:00pm — Client consultations
1:00–2:00pm — Lunch
2:00–4:00pm — Client consultations
4:15pm — Head home
DAY 2 — CONSULTING
9:45am — Arrive and prepare
10:00am–1:00pm — Client consultations
1:00–2:00pm — Lunch
2:00–6:00pm — Client consultations
DAY 3 — BUILDING YOUR PRACTICE
Work flexibly on the activities that keep your practice growing.
This might include:
- Client administration and follow-up
- Case preparation
- Professional development
- Team meetings and mentoring
- Creating client resources
- Developing social media content
- Contacting potential referrers
- Visiting local GP and allied health practices
- Building relationships within your community
And as your client base grows, there may be opportunities for your role to grow too.
Where could this career take you?
We don’t want to simply put a dietitian in a room somewhere and call it a satellite clinic. We’re thinking much bigger than that.
Our vision is to expand The Healthy Eating Clinic across Australia, particularly into regional and rural communities where access to consistent dietetic support may be limited and make a significant impact on how nutrition support is delivered in Australia.
For the right practitioner, your role could begin with establishing a small local client base. You focus on honing your private practice skills, building local relationships and referral pathways, and your job can grow as big as you want. Then we’ll look at hiring your first team member, and eventually you’ll be the satellite manager, leading a thriving team and changing people’s lives.
If you’re ambitious, we’re ambitious right alongside you.
Is your location right for a Healthy Eating Clinic?
Our goal is to establish clinics Australia-wide. This includes both metropolitan and regional areas; however, we’re particularly interested in hearing from dietitians living in regional and rural communities across Australia.
You don’t need to have all the answers before contacting us. Part of our job is assessing whether establishing a service in your region makes sense.
We’ll consider things such as:
- Is your community growing?
- Population growth, new housing developments and changing demographics can create opportunities for new healthcare services.
- Are dietetic services limited?
- We’re interested in communities where people would benefit from greater access to consistent, high-quality dietetic care.
- Is there somewhere we could start?
- You may already know a GP clinic, allied health practice, health hub, or professional space with consulting rooms available. You don’t need to organise it yourself; however, your local knowledge can help us understand what’s possible.
After 15 years of learning, we’re ready to grow!
We’ve made mistakes, tested ideas, built systems, trained dietitians, learned what helps practitioners build strong client relationships and sustainable caseloads, and built a team around them so they don’t have to do it alone.
Our next chapter is taking that experience beyond Canberra and creating Healthy Eating Clinics in communities across Australia.
The missing piece might be YOU.
We’re looking at opening multiple sites over the next 2-3 years. If you’re available to get started in 2027 or 2028 we’d love to hear from you.
