NDIS SERVICES

Working with your needs!

Our dietitians help self and plan managed NDIS participants maximise their health and wellbeing through good nutrition.

We offer clinic-based appointments at our Phillip office or video consultations from the comfort of your home.

Behaviour change can be tough.

That’s why we focus on helping our NDIS clients achieve good health through incremental change and breaking healthy eating into small achievable chunks that suit their food preferences, skill level and lifestyle.

We can support plan or self managed NDIS participants.

If you are plan or self-managed you can definitely use your NDIS funds for our nutrition services.

We are not registered providers, so you will not be able to use your NDIA-managed funding to pay for our services.

OUR NDIS POLICY

1. Eligibility and Booking Requirements

The Healthy Eating Clinic is an unregistered NDIS provider.

We provide dietetic services to:

  • Self-managed participants, and
  • Plan-managed participants

NDIS participants who wish to access services at the NDIS price guide rate must:

  • Book with a Dietitian or Specialist Dietitian (adults)
  • Book with Senior Specialist Dietitian Michelle Saunders (children ONLY) (subject to availability)

Participants who wish to book with a Senior Specialist Dietitian outside of this arrangement may do so as private, full-fee-paying clients.

2. Payment & Billing

Self-managed: participants must pay at the time of their consultation. They will be provided an invoice for reimbursement.

Plan-managed: invoices will be sent to the nominated plan manager for payment.

3. Appropriate Use of NDIS Funding

NDIS funding can only be used for dietetic services that are:

  • Directly related to the participant’s NDIS goals, and
  • Considered “reasonable and necessary” under the National Disability Insurance Scheme framework

This generally includes support where nutrition impacts:

  • Functional capacity
  • Independence
  • Ability to participate in daily activities
  • Disability-related health needs (e.g. swallowing difficulties, feeding support, disability-related nutrition risks)

NDIS funding cannot be used for:

  • General health or medical nutrition concerns not related to disability
  • Weight loss programs or general lifestyle advice
  • Preventative health unrelated to functional impairment

Eligibility and appropriateness will be determined during the initial nutrition assessment.
