MEDICARE REBATES FOR DIETITIAN CONSULTATIONS
We offer face-to-face, video and phone consultations for individuals with a Medicare referral from your doctor.
Medicare rebates are available to clients who have a chronic condition and complex care needs being managed by a doctor (GP). GP referrals must be accompanied by a signed Referral Form for Allied Health Services to be eligible for a Medicare rebate.
Medicare rebates are also available for individuals under an Eating Disorder Treatment Plan with a referral from their GP.
Medicare rebates are available under the following item numbers:
- 10954: Dietetic In-Person Consultation
- 93000: Dietetic Video Consultation
- 93013: Dietetic Phone Consultation
Under these Medicare item numbers clients can receive up to 5 rebates of $58.00 within a 12 month period for consultations with eligible allied health practitioners. If you would like to claim for dietetic consultations through Medicare please speak to your GP about whether you qualify for a Chronic Disease Management Plan.
- 82350: Dietetic In-Person Consultation for Eating Disorders
- 93074: Dietetic Video Consultation for Eating Disorders
Under these Medicare item numbers clients can receive up to 20 rebates of $58.00 within a 12 month period for consultations with eligible allied health practitioners. If you would like to claim for dietetic consultations through Medicare please speak to your GP about whether you qualify for an Eating Disorder Treatment Plan.
Claiming your Medicare rebate:
Clients are required to pay the cost of the consultation at the time of the consultation. Our friendly customer service team will then process the Medicare rebate of $58.00 to your account via our HICAPS machine. Consultations costs are rebates are as follows:
- First Consultation (1 hour) – $210 – receive $58.00 back from Medicare
- Second Consultation (1 hour) – $210 – receive $58.00 back from Medicare
- Support consultations (30 minutes) – $105 – receive $58.00 back from Medicare
Bulk billing is not available at The Healthy Eating Clinic.
How to Book a Medicare Consultation:
- Contact our Customer Service team – we can talk you through the process and find you an appointment time.
- Send through your Medicare referral documents via email: admin@healthyeatingclinic.com.au
IMPORTANT: We are unable to process the medicare claim without the relevant paper work from your GP. If we have not received your Medicare paperwork by your appointment you will be charged the full private fee for consultation. This condition will not be waived under any circumstances.
